The Fast Break Fund is a non-profit organization designed to enrich the lives of underprivileged children and children with special needs in upstate New York’s capital region. We believe that with exposure and participation in sports, young men and women are provided opportunities to build self-esteem and confidence, to gain valuable life-long skills such as responsibility, physical fitness, socialization and teamwork. These life skills are beneficial for children to learn and fundamental to lead a healthy, productive lifestyle.
The Fast Break Fund is a recognized 501C (3) that was founded in 1999 by Tony & Larry Hynes. When the Hynes brothers were young they were able to attend summer camp because of the generosity and support of family and friends. With a generous heart and a spirit of ‘paying it forward’ they formed the Fast Break Fund with the primary mission of sending area underprivileged youth to sports camps in and around the capital region. Since 2005 Fast Break expanded their support of underserved children with the development of their own recreational programs for children living with special needs. Fast Break has been supporting children and families in the capital region for nearly 20 years.
